We’re excited to invite applications for the Venue Manager role at Kawana Aquatic Centre. This opportunity has become available due to an internal movement, and it’s a brilliant time to step into a beautifully newly renovated venue with strong community presence and plenty of momentum.

As Venue Manager, you’ll oversee all facets of the Centre from aquatic programs to customer experience and team leadership to ensuring Kawana is the go-to destination for fitness, wellbeing and family fun in the region.

What You’ll Bring

Operational Leadership and Facility Management

You will lead the end-to-end operations of the Centre, ensuring the highest standard of quality, safety and service across aquatic programs, facilities, and customer service. You will champion health and safety, risk mitigation and continuous improvement while delivering operational plans aligned with organisational goals.

Team Leadership and Development

You will lead, mentor and motivate a vibrant team of managers, instructors, lifeguards and customer service team members. You will build capability, nurture a culture of accountability and connection, and deliver performance outcomes through workforce planning, coaching and engagement.

Program and Experience Delivery

You will ensure the delivery of best-practice aquatic and fitness programs. Working closely with program leads, you’ll drive quality, participation and evolved service offerings based on data, feedback and industry trends, always with a customer-first mindset.

Business Development and Community Engagement

You will grow the venue’s reach through strategic partnerships, local engagement and targeted initiatives. You’ll build strong relationships with schools, sporting clubs and community groups, and use insights and reporting tools to enhance business outcomes and member experience.

About You

  • Experienced leader with a strong background in aquatics, health, leisure or fitness
  • Confident managing a multi-disciplinary operation (people, programs, plant/facilities, customer experience)
  • Knowledge of aquatic operations, compliance, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team with energy and professionalism
  • Strong business acumen including budgeting, performance reporting and planning
  • Committed to outstanding customer service and community connection
  • You lead from the front: on the deck, in customer service and alongside your team, not behind a desk
  • Availability to work weekends and a rotating mix of opening and closing shifts to support centre operations
