Assistant Swim School Manager (2IC) – Chermside Aquatic Centre

Take the next step in your aquatics career with City Venue Management.

Are you ready to step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact? We’re looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Swim School Manager (2IC) to support the daily operations of our swim school at Chermside Aquatic Centre.

This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced swim teacher or swim school team member who is ready to grow into leadership, while continuing to do what they love – helping children build confidence and life-saving skills in the water.

About the Role

As the Assistant Swim School Manager, you’ll work closely with the Swim School Manager and Facility Manager to ensure our programs run smoothly and our customers receive a consistently high-quality experience.

You’ll be hands-on in the water, confident teaching across all levels – especially babies and early learners – while also supporting team coordination, daily operations, and customer communication.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality swim lessons across all levels, with a strong focus on infants and young children
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the swim school, ensuring smooth program delivery
  • Assist with staff coordination, including rosters, shift coverage, and team communication
  • Build strong relationships with families, providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and well-organised pool deck environment
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of swim teachers
  • Assist with enrolments, class changes, and general administration tasks
  • Step confidently into a leadership role when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Confident and experienced swim teacher across all levels (babies experience highly valued)
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learn-to-swim journey
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with both team members and parents
  • A natural team player who is open to new ideas and continuous improvement
  • Ability to support, guide, and motivate a team
  • Organised, adaptable, and solutions-focused

Essential Requirements:

  • Swim Teacher qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Availability to work weekends
