City Venue Management is excited to be welcoming Kokoda Memorial Baths and Long Tan Memorial Baths into our growing network of aquatic facilities, and we're looking for an exceptional Swim School Manager at each facility to help shape their next chapter.

This is more than a swim school management role. It's an opportunity to build a thriving learn-to-swim program across iconic community facilities, develop and inspire a passionate team, strengthen community connections, and create exceptional experiences for children and families from day one.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Play a key role in shaping the future of learn-to-swim programs.
  • Lead and develop a team dedicated to helping children build confidence and lifelong water safety skills.
  • Make a genuine impact on community participation and customer experience.
  • Join a growing organisation operating 40+ aquatic and recreation venues.
  • Access genuine leadership development and career progression opportunities.
  • Competitive salary package, Fitness Passport, and team member benefits.

The Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of the swim school program across either Kokoda Memorial Baths or Long Tan Memorial Baths, supporting and developing instructors while creating an outstanding experience for students and families throughout the Townsville community.

As Swim School Manager, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the swim school team to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality swim instruction from infants through to squad levels.
  • Manage class schedules, staff rosters, enrolments, and day-to-day swim school operations.
  • Build strong relationships with families, schools, and community groups to grow participation and engagement.
  • Drive enrolments through proactive communication, community outreach, and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with pool safety standards, child safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and families.
  • Work collaboratively with venue leadership teams to support the overall success of the facility.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a positive team culture during the transition to City Venue Management.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and motivated leader with the ability to inspire and support a team.
  • Highly organised, with strong administration and time management skills.
  • Passionate about customer experience, water safety, and community engagement.
  • A strong communicator who can build trust with families, staff, schools, and stakeholders.
  • Solutions-focused, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Excited by the opportunity to help establish and grow swim school programs within a new operating environment.

Experience within aquatics, leisure, or swim school operations is highly regarded; however, we welcome applicants from a range of leadership and customer-focused backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow in the role.
